TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Treatment at Serenity Recovery Centers begins with a comprehensive assessment by clinical staff. Clients work with staff members to complete assessments and identify their individual needs. An individualized treatment plan is created to help coordinate treatments.

Treatment consists of gender-specific programming with 24-hour monitoring. Clients participate in group and individual therapy sessions and educational sessions. Treatment methods are based on the 12-steps principles combined with the Recovery Dynamics program.

Additional services are available to educate clients on various related topics including anger management, spiritual concepts, life skills, vocational and financial training, and relapse prevention. There are also dedicated programs for parents including women with dependent children, as well as trauma-informed care. Services like HIV testing, education, and early intervention are provided to help clients address common concerns.

These include psychiatric and psychological evaluations, medical maintenance, and psychosocial testing are available by referral only. Aftercare services are available to clients that complete the programs. There is a weekly aftercare support group that meets for up to two hours per meeting.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Two of the alumni gave five out of five stars for accommodations, meals and nutrition, and the level of staff support. The other alumni gave three stars for these same categories. As a weakness, two alumni gave just one out of five stars for its holistic offerings.

On Google, Serenity Recovery Centers earned an average of 2.6 out of five stars from 10 reviews. [1] Two of the reviews come from individuals who only called the facility and felt that the receptionist was rude. For the alumni reviews, many also complained about staff communication.

On YellowPages.com, the facility has an average rating of 2.5 out of five stars based on the six individuals who left reviews at the time of this writing. [2] While one alum praised the food, the other alumni complained about the ineffectiveness of the treatment program, the lack of holistic treatment opportunities, and the strict policies. In a representative review, alum John wrote: “There’s really no recreation besides playing dominos and cards, which is really reminiscent of jail. (I caught myself calling the room a pod a few times). You can’t have any musical instruments (my main problem but hey it’s rehab) and there’s really nothing to do during the day […] My main problem with this place and the reason I left early is that the counselors really don’t do much of anything.”
