ABOUT WATAUGA RECOVERY CENTER
Watauga Recovery Centers operates six treatment facilities in several states. The Morristown, Tenn. location offers outpatient, clinic-based treatment to adults struggling with substance abuse. The center provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and is among 20 percent of treatment facilities in the state to utilize Suboxone in treating opioid dependency.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The facility’s treatment program follows the American Society of Addiction Medicine guidelines, and many physicians are board-certified or board-eligible in addiction medicine. Throughout treatment, clients may receive Suboxone medication therapy prescribed by their treating physician. Suboxone (buprenorphine and naloxone) is utilized to treat opioid dependence by decreasing cravings and relieving withdrawal symptoms during detoxification.
Along with MAT, if necessary, clients attend 12-step meetings throughout treatment which, according to the facility, is where the true healing and recovery happens. Clients are required to attend at least one meeting on-site per month, but are encouraged to participate more frequently and attend other 12-step meetings in their community for additional support. The program also provides group therapy, which is typically scheduled at night or on the weekends to accommodate client schedules.
Family is encouraged to attend appointments with the clients and be involved in treatment. There is a play area for children to use during appointments.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The treatment team includes board-certified or board-eligible addiction medicine physicians and other clinic support staff.
