ABOUT HEMPHILL TREATMENT SERVICES

Hemphill Treatment Services is operated by Texas Treatment Services, a private organization that provides outpatient, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for individuals struggling with opioid addition at seven facilities in Texas — making up a not-insignificant portion of the 65 dedicated opioid treatment programs in the whole state of Texas. Texas Treatment Services uses both methadone (available at 65 facilities in the state) and Suboxone (available at 113 centers in Texas).

The Hemphill Treatment Services location is situated in a commercial and residential neighborhood in south Fort Worth, just west of the Historic Southside.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

You’ll start off by meeting with a counselor and a doctor to determine the best course of treatment. This session can sometimes take the whole morning, so new clients are advised to leave plenty of time.

Once they’ve started on a course of medication, clients are reminded that their success depends on remaining in the program and on the medication for long enough; the center cites research indicating that at least three months are required for a client to stabilize.

Texas Treatment Services provides no further information about its treatment services, however, an employee polled by Best-rehabs.com indicated that treatment was neither faith-based nor rooted in the 12-Steps.

The Hemphill center is open in the very early mornings: from 5.15 a.m. until noon Monday through Friday, as well as 5 a.m. to 6.45 a.m. on Saturdays. There’s no service on Sundays.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Hemphill Treatment Services employs both counselors and staff. There is currently no further information provided by the facility regarding its treatment staff, however, the single individual polled by Best-rehabs.com to date, an employee, gave the facility four out of five stars for its staff’s level of training and experience.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Best-rehabs.com has not yet received any reviews directly from alumni of this facility, and secondary review sites yield mostly positive coverage at the time of this writing, with a 4.5-star average rating based on 13 reviews left on Google as well as single one-star ratings on both Yelp and CiteHealth. There’s little overlap between the negative reviews, which variously cite rudeness, an apparent over-concern with making money, and inattentiveness to new clients.

But the positive reviewers repeatedly praised the center’s staff: “They are all so great up here,” Samantha wrote in a typical comment on Google. And on the same site, alum Allen went so far as to write: “Its turned my life around in so many good ways.”

WHAT STAFF SAY

“Caring, friendly staff. Good standing with the community,” wrote S.K., the single staffer polled by Best-rehabs.com to date. S.K. gave the facility five stars for its family participation, four stars for its treatment effectiveness, three stars for its counseling options, and two stars for its treatment for co-occurring disorders, and indicated that they would strongly recommend treatment at this facility. “For profit clinic. No scholarships available,” they listed as the center’s only weakness.

Three employees of Texas Treatment Services in Fort Worth have left mixed feedback on secondary sites, in the form of a one-star rating, a four-star rating, and a five-star rating spread between Glassdoor and Indeed. More than one reviewer described a laid-back, manageable pace of work, indicating that the center is not overcrowded with clients, and one anonymous reviewer on Glassdoor praised the staff as “wonderful, upbeat people in an interdisciplinary environment.” However, the negative reviewer, who posted on Indeed, complained of poor management creating a “very unprofessional atmosphere.”

FINANCING

There is currently no information provided on the facility’s website regarding its costs, however, the single individual polled by Best-rehabs.com to date, a staffer, gave the facility three out of five stars for its affordability.
