Established in 1990 and now operating 15 facilities throughout the State of Texas, The Right Step is one of the largest networks of addiction treatment centers in the Southwest. The Plano location, situated about 20 miles northwest of downtown Dallas, offers outpatient programming and aftercare services for adults struggling with addiction. TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Before enrollment, all clients undergo a confidential assessment to determine the most suitable level of care for their needs. The primary offering at the Plano center is an outpatient program designed for individuals who do not require a high level of care. This program can be used as either stand-alone treatment or as a step-down option for those who have completed more intensive treatment.
The outpatient program consists of 10 hours of programming each week, with both evening and daytime sessions available. The Right Step utilizes a 12-step methodology and Positive Recovery, a strengths-based approach to addiction treatment. Clients participate in educational workshops and receive individual, group, and family counseling. Spirituality awareness and relapse prevention training are also incorporated into the program.
The center provides two aftercare options. Clients can enroll in a standard two-year aftercare program that includes weekly group counseling and access to an alumni network. Alternatively, Javelin Continuing Care Services offers more individualized programming to help alumni maintain sobriety. The 12-month plan includes regular check-ins with a sobriety coach, assistance with goal setting, regular drug screening, life skills training, family engagement, and ongoing education.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
According to the facility’s website, the Plano location employs licensed addiction professionals. The leadership team includes a physician and a registered nurse.
