ABOUT THE RIGHT STEP OUTPATIENT IN PASADENA
The Right Step operates six outpatient centers in the Houston area — for example in Southwest Houston and North Houston — and four residential and detox centers around Texas for individuals struggling with problematic substance use. Located in an office building on a busy commercial street 20 miles southeast of central Houston, the Pasadena facility offers intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) for adults and adolescents.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The facility offers a daytime and an evening IOP for adults, and for adolescents, an afternoon program only, with one required evening session per week. All IOPs typically last six weeks, and clients typically meet three or four times a week, for two and a half or three hours at a time. The program can serve as entry-level care or as a step down from residential treatment.
Treatment is built around the 12-Steps, and offers support in the form of individual counseling, group discussions, and education in a classroom setting, plus support, education, and counseling for families.
The Right Step’s Pasadena facility works hard to provide treatment for the many workers at the area’s refineries and industrial centers, for whom substance use difficulties pose an extra safety hazard. As such, the facility works closely with employers, employee assistance programs, and the US Department of Transportation, and places a particular emphasis on balancing each client’s individual goals with the needs of the community and employers. The center also helps individuals who do not work in these industries.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The Right Step is run by two licensed chemical dependency counselors, one of whom is also a registered nurse.
