ABOUT DISCOVERY HOUSE COMPREHENSIVE TREATMENT CENTER OF OREM
Discovery House Comprehensive Treatment Centers of Utah operates four methadone and buprenorphine clinics that offer counseling and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). The location in Orem provides outpatient treatment for adults struggling with opioid dependency.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Discovery House Comprehensive Treatment Center of Orem offers a program designed for individuals who have grappled with heroin or prescription painkiller addiction for at least a year. Pregnant clients are eligible for the program but must accept coordination from an OB/GYN. Upon arriving at the center, clients must not have used opioids for the previous 24 hours, unless they are pregnant, to help clinicians determine an effective dosage protocol.
Clients are assessed for their individual needs and prescribed either methadone or buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex). The facility is among the 5.5 percent of Utah facilities that offer a methadone maintenance program.
The center’s team of professionals monitors the effectiveness and administration of medication for optimal safety and outcomes. Individual and group therapy provide support, guidance, and skills to help clients abstain from drug abuse in the future. In therapy, clients examine the root causes of their addiction and discuss their behaviors, emotions, and viewpoints in a safe environment.

FINANCING
Prior to the start of treatment, the facility briefs clients on the cost of care and payment options. Clients are required to pay an intake fee on the day of their appointment unless covered by Medicaid and, in most cases, must pay for treatment upfront. According to its website, the facility accepts most insurance plans; however, clients first pay out of pocket and then submit claims to their insurer for reimbursement.
