ABOUT SCOTTSDALE ADDICTION TREATMENT AND COUNSELING
Scottsdale Addiction Treatment and Counseling, also known as Scottsdale Behavioral Health, offers intensive outpatient treatment for alcohol and drug addiction. Ambulatory detoxification services are available, including medication assisted therapy for withdrawal from alcohol and opiates. This facility takes a nonjudgmental approach to treating chemical dependency and substance abuse. The main psychiatrist also provides individual counseling for adolescent and adult clients.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
An initial psychiatric and substance abuse assessment is performed prior to intake to determine each client’s level of motivation and to create an individualized treatment plan. If a client’s desire for recovery is low, he or she will first receive motivational enhancement therapy before being admitted into the IOP.
An outpatient narcotics detox and maintenance program consists of three to four initial, daily therapy sessions, followed by two each month. Clients then have the choice to continue long-term medication-assisted treatment or wean off their this treatment.
The substance abuse IOP lasts for 16 weeks, with clients meeting at least three times a week for roughly two hours. Clients participate in cognitive behavioral therapy-based individual and group counseling, and they are encouraged to follow a 12-step recovery program and attend outside meetings. Group therapy topics include addiction education, relapse prevention techniques, anger management, and coping skills. Staff can also assist with legal help for possible drug related offenses, and the program utilizes random drug testing.
Family counseling and education are available.
