ABOUT FOUNTAIN RECOVERY

Located in the town of Livermore, Calif., 34 miles north of San Jose, Fountain Recovery offers a full continuum of treatment programs for individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Fountain Recovery provides residential treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and two sober living houses.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to the center’s website, to develop an individualized treatment plan and determine an appropriate level of care, clients undergo an initial substance abuse assessment. If a client initially requires structure and supervision to obtain and sustain sobriety, they may be referred to Fountain Recovery’s residential program.

Fountain Recovery’s evidence-based programming is abstinence-based and, like 78% of treatment centers in California, rooted in the principles and practices of 12-Step. Residents attend daily meetings, study fellowship literature, and perform associated “step-work.”

During residential treatment, clients participate in programming five days per week. Clients attend educational and process groups that cover a range of topics, such as recovery skills training and relapse prevention. Clients are also assigned a primary counselor for daily individual and group counseling sessions. In addition, Fountain Recovery provides a Family Program for loved ones, which entails family education and counseling.

The facility’s PHP involves 30 hours of weekly programming, six hours every weekday. Clients attend two morning groups and two afternoon groups. Upon completion of residential treatment or PHP, clients may be encouraged to utilize the intensive outpatient program as a “step-down” service.

After completing their primary treatment program, clients may transition into one of the sober living homes operated by Fountain Recovery. While living in the home, clients must attend two weekly house meetings, perform mandatory chores, and are encouraged to work or attend school. Fountain Recovery offers free aftercare groups to all clients who successfully complete a treatment program.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

Fountain Recovery’s website states: “Our staff is made up of experienced, compassionate and dedicated counselors.” Fountain Recovery also claims to provide an intimate staff-to-client ratio to meet each client’s specific needs, though it does not specify an exact number.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Although no information is available concerning the residential treatment facility, Fountain Recovery’s two sober living homes – Fountain House and Serenity House – provide a structured, supportive environment conducive to recovery. To help ensure a successful transition back into the community, the homes are supervised 24 hours a day. Residents work or attend school during the day and engage in recovery activities at night.
