ABOUT SUN STREET CENTERS
Sun Street Centers provides education, prevention, treatment, and recovery programs across six different locations in northern California. At 11 Peach Drive in Salinas, home to Sun Street Center’s administrative office, Sun Street Centers offers outpatient counseling and DUI programs. There’s also a residential treatment center exclusively for men nearby.
The official hours of the Salinas outpatient location are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Services are available in both English and Spanish.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Outpatient counseling takes place in both private and group settings, involving families and partners where appropriate. Using the Matrix Model of treatment, an evidence-based approach backed by more than 20 years of research, counseling helps adult men and women develop skills essential to early recovery and relapse prevention. Common issues addressed include anger management, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, communication, self-esteem, and more.
The organization’s state-licensed Driving Under the Influence (DUI) program helps first and multiple offenders gain a better understanding of their drug or alcohol problem as well as the risk inherent in drunk and stoned driving. There’s also a 10-session Family Empowerment Program for loved ones invested in their loved one’s recovery process.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
Sun Street Centers is led by a team of departmental directors, program managers, and administrative professionals. The outpatient team includes a marriage and family therapist and a clinical coordinator.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
E.H., a former program participant of the nearby residential center, described the program for men as a “hopeful & encouraging environment where men heal and thrive in [their] recovery.” He also gave four- and five-star ratings for the “welcoming and professional” staff’s level of training and experience, the counseling options available, and the treatment effectiveness, amongst other areas. “The personal relationships I discovered at SSC with others in recovery has been priceless,” he told Best-rehabs.com.
Feedback was also excellent across secondary sources, where 52 Facebook users and four Google reviewers awarded Sun Street Centers respective average ratings of 4.6 and five stars out of five.[1][2]
“Sun Street Center gave me the love I needed and the tools to live a good life without asking anything in return thank you,” wrote Charles in his five-star review on Facebook.

Of the four five-star Google reviewers, two shared success stories they’d witnessed. “You saved my nephew,” wrote Ruth. “You saved my friend Curtis and for that I say thank you,” wrote Trevor.
