The Core Centers strongly believes that individualized care and one-on-one therapy are crucial components of an effective drug and alcohol treatment program. Our holistic rehab facility utilizes a wide range of evidenced-based modalities and innovative approaches, including group psychotherapy, intensive individual therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to assist our clients in addressing underlying issues, breaking free from addictive behaviors, and maintaining lifelong sobriety.
ABOUT THE CORE CENTERS
The Core Centers, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, provides a comprehensive range of treatment options for adult men and women who are struggling with a substance abuse disorder and dual diagnosis. Our programs include detoxification, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), general outpatient, and sober living residency programs.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Clients who require detoxification are closely monitored and supervised for three to 10 days to help manage withdrawal effects. Every client undergoes an evaluation to identify any co-occurring mental health disorders and to develop an individualized treatment plan, which is created by our medical and clinical directors.
The Core Centers utilizes evidence-based models and innovative approaches to support recovery. Our program emphasizes holistic treatment for the mind, body, and spirit, and includes intensive individual therapy, family counseling, and gender-specific or spirituality-focused group therapy. Treatment may also incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), medication management, trauma treatment, anger management, yoga, art and music therapy, and visits with a chiropractor. Clients may also choose to participate in 12-step meetings each evening.
For those unable to attend during the day, we offer outpatient options. Our IOP treatment heavily emphasizes one-on-one counseling and takes place three evenings per week, while our more general outpatient services are available once per week.
Clients develop life skills, learn about relapse prevention, and create comprehensive discharge plans at our center. Aftercare may consist of continuing therapy sessions or transitioning to sober living.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
Our treatment team, which includes substance abuse counselors, therapists, and nurses, is led by a clinical director. We also have a dentist, case manager, and several admission and outreach coordinators on site.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Based on images published on our website, the Core Centers offers a modern, bright, and open facility with various rooms. In addition to a dining hall, kitchen, and living room, we have cozy therapy rooms, a massage room, and a game room. Meals are catered five days per week, and clients stay in semi-private rooms equipped with cable and flat screen televisions. Clients may also participate in activities such as beach outings, paddle boarding, movies, and bowling.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
According to Best-rehabs.com, nine out of 12 alumni polled reported positive experiences at the Core Centers. Many of these individuals had previously attempted recovery elsewhere. Most alumni rated our facility five out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, accommodations and amenities, and meals and nutrition. They praised the efficacy of our program and the compassion of our staff. In a representative review, one alum named Michael wrote: “I have literally called these therapists at all hours of the night and they helped me get through tough times.”
However, three alumni expressed dissatisfaction with their treatment. Both An and L. complained about the living conditions, citing the presence of cockroaches. Additionally, N.W. was displeased that handouts were not provided to aid in their understanding of addiction.
WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY
Based on the responses of two friends and family members, both rated the Core Centers with only one out of five stars across all metrics measured. Their feedback suggests a negative experience. One loved one named P.M.R. complained about dishonest staff, while another loved one named D.L. rated our facility poorly in terms of treatment effectiveness, saying, “My brother was at the Core Center three times in the last two months. He has emerged twice as sick as before he went there.”
