ABOUT HIGHLAND RIVERS HEALTH – WHITFIELD RECOVERY AND WELLNESS CENTER
Highland Rivers Health is a healthcare provider offering behavioral and mental health services throughout Georgia. The organization operates Bartow Recovery and Wellness Center in Cartersville, the Floyd Recovery and Wellness Center in Rome, and the Polk Recovery and Wellness Center in Cedartown. Clients will have an individualized treatment plan created from an assessment used to determine the level of care needed.
Mental health care services for adults and children include individual, family, and group counseling, education and skills training, and crisis intervention. Medication management and monitoring is offered as needed. Clients will also have access to community transition support and referrals to other programs.
The Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) is provided in three-phases, with each phase lasting one to two months. During treatment, clients must submit to random drug testing. Family participation is highly encouraged.
The Whitfield Recovery and Wellness Center also provides peer support and counseling, wellness groups, and employment support.

Highland Rivers Health as a whole employs more than 600 professionals including doctors, nurses, addiction counselors, and case workers. The Whitfield facility is staffed by professional clinicians, doctors, and nurse practitioners.

Several commenters noted problems with upper management. “The peer group is a great program however getting an appointment with the psychiatrist there is next to impossible,” wrote Steven on the site. “Always wait an hour + with a scheduled appointment… They can never be on time,” added Bobbi.
