ABOUT WILLOWBROOKE AT TANNER
Willowbrooke at Tanner in Villa Rica, Ga., offers inpatient and outpatient care and a partial hospitalization program (PHP) for individuals with substance abuse and mental health disorders like depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and anxiety.
Tanner Health System operates an outpatient program in the town of Cartersville and offices in Rome.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Treatment at Willowbrooke at Tanner begins with a free on-site comprehensive mental health evaluation. Willowbrooke at Tanner’s short-term inpatient care average length of stay is less than seven days. The center encourages family participation and provides education to loved ones.
Clients receive an individualized treatment plan that includes individual and group therapy, addiction education, and holistic options, such as music and art. The center also offers an animal-assisted therapy program, and during the summer, an equine therapy program.
Partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) are directed toward those who are transitioning between inpatient care back into the community and those who can function at “minimum-to-moderate” levels in community settings. Adult programming lasts two to eight weeks with weekday hours while the program for adolescents ages 13 to 17 and children ages 5 to 17 are held weekdays for four hours after school. Regardless of a client’s age and level of care, the PHPs provide transportation and meals.

Willowbrooke’s campus includes private courtyards, an indoor half-court gym with a climbing wall, a meditation area, and classrooms. Residents at the 92-bed facility will eat food from specialized menus in a cafeteria with outdoor and indoor seating.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The sole alum surveyed by Best-rehabs.com gave Willowbrooke at Tanner moderate ratings across the board. The anonymous alum gave ratings of three out of five stars for the hospital’s level of family participation, counseling options, treatment effectiveness, exercise and leisure options, and faith-based programming. They gave experienced staff and treatment for co-occurring conditions four out of five stars.
Third-party sites reveal moderate ratings. Twenty-nine reviewers on Google gave the facility an average of 2.4 out of five stars while 20 reviewers on Yelp gave Willowbrooke 1.5 out of five stars. Complaints on both sites cite a lack of quality care and unprofessional employees.
On the facility’s official Facebook page, which it can vet, 29 reviewers gave the center 3.1 out of five. Reviewers were split between one- and five-stars with individuals citing problems with unprofessional employees and unsafe conditions.
