  • This facility is what you make of it. The nurses are all lovely and caring people. It's a hospital, so everything is sterile and tidy. Intake and case counselors are either great or just decent. If the group of patients are serious and sharing, you will learn a lot. If the patient group is weak, it dampens the experience. The groups are spread throughout the day, but allowing sufficient down time. Several times a week they take you to several actual, quality meetings that are public & closed, hosted downstairs in the hospital. You can get out of the hospital for smoke breaks, they go bowling, there's an exercise room, etc. I can do without the food menu though, i found it rather disappointing at times.

  • This place is an absolute nightmare. On more then two occasions, I overheard the staff poking fun at the addicts. I almost allowed this place to turn me away from the 12 steps. They truly did not care about there patients and jobs. If you or a loved one is truly in danger from addiction, do the real thing and go to a program with staff who is part of the recovery process . It makes all the difference. Best wishes

  • Do NOT go here! Intake coordinators, staff in and outpatient are not professional. The medical detox is a joke! The staff on weekends are terrible. Alexian and Lutheran General is far better! Nothing but incompetent people running this place, I do not recommend this place.
Strengths are a compassionate nursing staff, decent quarters if you get a private room, pretty good food, casual atmosphere, experienced staff. Weakness is sometimes atmosphere is too casual, and unserious or disruptive patients are not reined in my staff. There also is a lot of downtime, and some of the programming is kind of slapdash. And much of your experience depends on which case manager you get. If you need inpatient treatment (especially detox) and you are serious about your recovery, this can be a great place. I think they are run a little sloppily, and probably face financial challenges due to sometimes lack of patients, but they mean well. They are not just trying to extract money from you and your insurance company.
