ABOUT EDGEWATER BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES – THE TURNING POINT CENTER
Edgewater Behavioral Health Services (EBHS) has been providing cost-effective mental health and addiction services in Gary, Ind., for more than 40 years. The Turning Point Center, EBHS’s substance abuse program, offers abstinence-based treatment for individuals struggling with addiction. All care is offered on an outpatient basis and is appropriate for those with co-occurring mental health disorders.
Clients who require methadone maintenance may also find support through The New Life Center, which is located within The Turning Point Center. The facility also offers detox treatment through the New Life Center.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Outpatient care is offered at both standard and intensive outpatient (IOP) levels. The Turning Point Center aims to provide a path to lasting recovery by engaging family members and addressing any underlying mental health disorders. Enrolled clients can expect to participate in a mix of individual therapy, family counseling, and group therapy. DUI programing is also available.
The center strives to offer services at times that are convenient for those who must continue to work or fulfill family obligations while undergoing treatment. Both the general addiction treatment center and methadone maintenance facility are open seven days a week. Hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 6 to 9 a.m. weekends for the general center and 5:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. weekdays and 6 to 9 a.m. weekends for the methadone facility.
