ABOUT THE EXTRA MILE SOBER LIVING- MANTACHIE, MS
The Extra Mile Sober Living, situated in Mantachie, Mississippi, offers long-term residential treatment and sober living for adult men in recovery from substance abuse. The facility’s primary aim is to enhance clients’ personal skills in areas such as honesty, accountability, employment, social interaction, self-esteem, and achievement. Before entering the facility, all residents must successfully complete primary residential treatment.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The facility’s treatment program adheres to the 12-Steps, with clients actively participating in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetings. Treatment is structured in three phases: Phase one covers the initial 30 days, Phase two spans months two through five, and Phase three continues from the sixth month onwards. All program participants must commit to a minimum duration of six months, with the option to extend their stay for up to two years.
During phase one, clients engage in four to five AA or NA meetings per week, secure an AA/NA sponsor, partake in both group and individual therapy sessions, and actively seek employment. In phase two, clients progress through the 12-step program, commence employment once they find a job, set short and long-term goals with their counselors, serve as mentors to newcomers, and continue to fully engage in the Extra Mile program. Phase three entails ongoing participation in the same components as phase two.
Throughout treatment, clients receive individual counseling sessions once a week and attend a comprehensive group session on a weekly basis. Daily morning meditation groups are available, as are guest speaker events and sober social activities. STAFF CREDENTIALS
The treatment team comprises of a certified alcohol and drug counselor, who also serves as the director and owner of the facility, as well as a therapist. In addition, resident advisors supervise and oversee the cabins and apartments. These resident advisors, who must possess a minimum of one year of sobriety, assist the director in daily supervision and ensuring residents are accountable.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
The facility provides a total of 24 beds across rustic log cabins and apartments. The log cabins offer two bedrooms and one bathroom, accommodating four individuals each. The apartments consist of either one or two bedrooms, one bathroom, and house between two and four individuals.
Each unit boasts a fully equipped kitchen and bedrooms furnished with twin beds, linens, and closet space. Bathrooms are stocked with towels and other bath linens. All housing options include central heating and air conditioning, as well as access to washers and dryers. Clients can enjoy cable TV, comfortable living rooms with fireplaces, outdoor decks with patio sets, and beautiful views of the fishing pond.
