ABOUT THE HAVEN HOUSE

Located in Oxford, Miss., Haven House is a 48-bed residential facility that specializes in treating adults struggling with chemical dependency and co-occurring mental health concerns. Along with a primary residential program, which requires a minimum client commitment of 30 days, Haven House also provides transitional housing, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and aftercare services. Haven House does not offer medical detoxification services on-site, however, according to the facility’s website, Haven House does provide “withdrawal management services.”

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Before beginning treatment, prospective clients participate in an initial pre-admission assessment over the phone. An in-person assessment may also be administered upon intake to identify individual client needs. Haven House blends evidence-based treatments, 12-step immersion, and holistic treatment methods to equip clients with the tools necessary to achieve a successfully recovery.

During the primary residential program, clients adhere to a structured, supervised schedule of treatment programming. The principles and practices of the 12-steps are major components of Haven House’s treatment approach. 12-step meetings are held twice daily on-site, and clients may be required to study fellowship literature (Big Book) and perform associated “step-work.” Clients may also attend process groups, individual counseling sessions, educational classes on addiction, and workshops on relapse prevention and coping skills.

Haven House integrates a range of holistic and alternative treatment approaches. During the primary residential program, clients participate in musical and artistic expression classes, yoga sessions, guided meditation, and nature walks. To address co-occurring mental health disorders, Haven House may facilitate psychiatric consultations and ongoing medication management.

Upon completion of the short-term residential program, Haven House operates a transitional living facility for program alumni. Residents may stay in transitional housing for up to six months. For continuing care, Haven House also offers an intensive outpatient program, which may involve process groups and relapse prevention-focused educational classes. • Absolutely the worst treatment center I've ever been to. Idk how all of these positive reviews have gone up. Not only are the "groups" completely ineffective, but all you do is sit there and listen to other clients life stories. There is literally no knowledge to be found here. Most of the people here are court ordered. I was extremely disappointed by the medical staff if that's what you want to call them. If you are a heroin addict DO NOT GO HERE. Meth? Cool. Crack? Great. But they will NOT take care of you if you are coming down off opiates.
