ABOUT SHEPHEARST MEADOWS LLC
Located in Flowood, Miss., Shephearst Meadows provides outpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs to women who are struggling with substance abuse, mental health disorders, and/or co-occurring disorders.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Treatment at Shephearts Meadows begins with an initial evaluation and the development of a recovery plan. According to the center’s website, A Women’s Way is one of the center’s (IOP) programs. It is designed for women who are struggling with a mental health disorder. Women in the program meet three times a week, day or evening, for three hours along with weekly meetings with a therapist and psychiatrist.
The Transitions program is for high functioning women who are finding daily responsibilities difficult because of depression or anxiety. Treatment in this program includes an early intervention, three hours of group therapy, and one hour of individual therapy a week.
Shephearst Meadow’s A Refuge is another IOP program for women struggling with an addiction, an eating disorder, and/or co-occurring disorders. Clients of this program also meet three times per week for three hours at a time. Those struggling with an eating disorder will also schedule meal eating appointments and keep a food diary. Individual recovery plans are reviewed regularly and may include medication services.
A Women’s Circle is for women in recovery from addiction or an eating disorder who are experiencing irritability, sleeping issues, and negative thoughts. The program utilizes group therapy and is designed to provide structure, accountability, and freedom.
The Family Program is designed for women and families who want to live together, and want to live without addiction or an eating disorder. In this program, the staff will develop a family education and recovery plan that includes education about addiction, recovery and relapse prevention.
The center’s trauma-informed yoga is for survivors of abuse and trauma to find a safe way to reduce intense emotions. Treatment at Shephearst Meadows may also include art therapy, body image reframing, couples behavioral therapy, group therapy, individual therapy, and meditation.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The center’s website indicates the treatment staff includes board certified psychiatrists, therapists, a neuro-psychologist, a licensed dietician, and licensed professional counselors.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The single alum, Jesse, surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided a mostly positive review for Shephearst Meadows. She gave the center five out of five stars when asked if they would recommend it.
Jesse gave the center five stars for the staff’s experience and counseling options as well. She wrote: “Therapeutic based on spiritual and emotional reasoning for who we are, why we are who we are, and reasons leading into our addictions. Super program.”
Elsewhere online at the time of this writing, reviews were limited. There was a single rating of five out of five stars on Google for this facility and both a perfect, five-star and a one-star rating on Facebook, which the facility has the ability to manage.[1] [2]
