Las Vegas Recovery Center

Las Vegas Recovery Center Las Vegas Nevada

Las Vegas Recovery Center (LVRC) is a leading provider of opioid-free treatment for chronic pain and addiction in the United States. Since 2003, LVRC has offered innovative and evidence-based programs that have influenced other respected treatment centers worldwide.

ABOUT LAS VEGAS RECOVERY CENTER

Located in southern Nevada near the Red Rock Mountains, LVRC provides comprehensive care for individuals struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. It is one of the facilities in the state that offers specialized care for individuals with co-occurring mental health disorders and chronic pain. LVRC’s services include inpatient rehabilitation, a long-term residential program, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and an intensive outpatient program (IOP).

LVRC is also one of the few non-hospital treatment facilities in the state that offers medically-monitored detox services.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

LVRC’s inpatient rehabilitation program follows a “back to basics” approach to addiction treatment, focusing on 12-Step principles, abstinence, group therapy, and individual therapy sessions. The facility uses methadone or Subutex to minimize the discomfort of opioid withdrawal. In addition to evidence-based approaches, LVRC emphasizes holistic treatment options such as acupuncture, yoga, massages, meditation, chiropractic therapy, and nutrition education. Inpatient treatment typically lasts 30 to 90 days, and the Family Renewal Program allows two loved ones to participate in the process.

The facility provides follow-up treatment/aftercare, referrals to the LVRC alumni group, and other levels of care as part of each client’s individual recovery plan. The PHP program offers seven days a week of programming from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., while the long-term residential program provides the same services as the inpatient program for clients who do not require acute medical care. The gender-specific Rehmar Recovery Residences offer supportive living with regular monitoring and supervision. The IOP program includes nine or more hours of group or individual sessions per week.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

LVRC employs a team of certified alcohol and drug counselors (CADCs), registered and licensed practical nurses, psychologists, and holistic instructors. The majority of substance abuse treatment centers in Nevada have higher education requirements for their staff, and past clients have praised the facility’s staff.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

Clients in the inpatient residential program stay in private or semi-private rooms with a maximum of eight clients per housing unit. The facility offers amenities such as Wi-Fi, cable and flat-panel TVs, full kitchens, laundry and cleaning products, and linens. Transportation to outpatient and day treatment programs is provided, and clients must attend five 12-Step meetings per week and adhere to a daily curfew. The cleanliness and upkeep of the facility have received positive feedback from individuals polled.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Reviews from alumni vary, with some praising the facility’s staff support and holistic treatment offerings, while others criticize the facility as an expensive scam with inadequate maintenance. Treatment effectiveness receives positive feedback overall, but high costs are repeatedly criticized. Online ratings from Google, Yelp, and the facility’s Facebook page also reflect mixed reviews.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

Feedback from family members of clients has been largely positive, with reports of compassionate and professional staff, effective programs involving family members, and high ratings for holistic treatment options, counseling options, and family participation.

WHAT STAFF SAY

One staff member provided positive feedback, describing the program as of the highest quality and the staff as caring and equipped to provide the most recent proven outcomes. Reviews from current and former employees on Indeed also reflect a generally positive experience working at the facility.

FINANCING

LVRC accepts most major insurance providers. The monthly fees for the Rehmar Recovery Residences vary depending on the type of room. Regarding treatment costs, feedback from survey respondents has been mixed.

  • Stay away-they only care about money!!! The owners of this place are cheap cheap cheap, they put on an act like they care but between the horrible cheap food to horrible cheap beds to the nasty cheap chemicals & machines used to wash clothes that ruin them, this alone show the lack of care. They only offer the same nasty fried breakfast every morning, along with soda machine and fake juice machine. At first I really thought this place was special and they really cared about the clients, but I learned the hard it was all bull. To start the detox room I was in made me sick from mildew and of course they didnt care. Gossip between staff and clients (especially the nurses and techs) is out of control and they dont care how this affects the other clients. Then instead of taking responsibility for it, they blamed me for being upset and without notice discharged me and without letting me make plans of where to go. These ppl are scum and in the end only care about themselves and money, NOT THE CLINETS.

  • Horrible experience!!! My son is still very much addicted after receiving "treatment" for two weeks. The counselor met with him TWO times and told the insurance he did not need 24 hour care. REALLY! They were rude they were unprofessional and mostly they were heartless. We traveled from far to go seek this great treatment and we were very let down. This facility is more concerned with collecting insurance money than they are with helping their patients. I had a lot of shenanigans going on at this facility. Maybe they should not be a coed treatment because the staff doesn't seem to have any control there they are to busy throwing people OUT of treatment. I NOT recommend this joke of a place to anyone. Now to find some real help for my son after they took our money and returned our son sicker than ever......

  • The Dr is a good man and truly understands addiction. Some of the counselors are good at LVRC some are not. The janitororial, kitchen and laundry staff are great. There are a lot of good people there in a flawed framework. If you truly want some help and have money to burn then LVRC could be an option. However even though the facade looks good it has not been maintained very well. Dirty uncomfortable furniture. Beds are worse, plus in the residential treatment wing it usually smells like an open sewer. The owner of LVRC came by a few times driving his Ferrari. Hmmmm. If you are serious about wanting recovery find a good AA or NA group and sponser and you'll save a lot of money and not have to go through a step 4 to overcome your resentment to a rehab center.

  • In response to the other reviews I will say this about LVRC: despite its moderate success with Opioid Induced Hyperalgesia and the pain program for chronic pain patients, it uses questionable practices to get, at best, obfuscated results. While its true that LVRC and Dr. are both very accredited, lets be honest about what that means. An example of "accredited": Best Doctors, a vanity club, is an organization that hands out awards for doctors who obtain favorable reviews from friends and then pays a fee for a Lucite-bound "award." As far as ABAM goes, if you are a doctor and a drug addict, fill out some forms, take a test, and then you're in. That says it all about Dr. I was a patient there, I'm a physician myself, and a good friend of an employee who recommended it. That being said I found the place deplorable in many ways. Rehab clinics post few if any long term results because there aren’t any. Rehab is mostly a placebo effect, and by that I mean they try very hard to brainwash a patient from the very beginning with employee "testimonials" which are biased and self-serving––in governments around the world its called “propaganda.” I went to LVRC on my own accord to detox safely and treat my Hyperalgesia, Fibromyalgia, and acute Temoromandibular disorder. What I received, after the appropriate and acceptable chemical detox program, was highly mysterious attempted spirituality reprogramming in place of treatment. Not exactly the Mayo Clinic, not exactly a health spa, more of quack-peddlers dream. I did find the nursing staff to be well-informed, disciplined, and professional, even to us medical professional patients. They are to be congratulated. The non-medical staff hammers on with 12 step slogans and assertions that the patient will die, yes, DIE, if they don’t believe in concepts of higher powers and spiritual peer meetings outside the facility... Yet the 12 steps and NA/AA meetings are just cheap and easy for them to substitute for real, scientific-based treatment, of which I found none. (No evidence exists of the efficacy of 12 step programs.) That’s what all rehab clinics do according to Dr. at NIDA, National Institute of Health, in Wash. DC. She is the premier researcher on addiction in America. I questioned her at length and she was highly skeptical of rehab as a whole. They are all the same. She suggested I interview other doctors there at NIH. My findings to date: The reason that so many medical organizations accredit rehab centers is because of the Mental Health Bill that was put in action. Basically, the US Government grants rehab clinics taxpayer money, and most doctors at NIH won’t come out against rehab clinics because that would be attacking the hand that feeds them. NIH receives money under that bill and criticizing it would be unbeneficial. This is direct from three doctors I asked at NIH, but none would go on record and I fully understand why. But rehab clinics know this only too well. Its no wonder the Internet at LVRC is tightly controlled and edited for content and website accessibility. Addiction Patients by and large recover on their own says the Harvard Medical Letter on addiction. But rehab clinics claim they are responsible only. Those that don’t recover like Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen and just ordinary citizens are given the blame by society, not the ineffective and expensive treatment facilities. Most families research buying a new car more than a rehab clinic for their loved ones said an article in the Washington Post. I believe that. There is a very well researched book entitled “Inside Rehab”, its well worth reading.

  • LVRC is a scam. All they care about is keeping you as long as possible to line their pockets with your's and your insurance's money. The second I told them I was going to leave, to actually do treatment, not detox, you know to maybe solve the problems that lead me to drugs in the first place, they stopped treating me completely. The Staff is half good. There are good people in there, however even the good one have their hands tied with how they can actually help you. The staff are told to tell you this is the only way, however there are many ways to battle addiction. If you have been in and out of detox's and rehabs I encourage all of you to research Ibogaine. LVRC is simply a huge waste of money.

  • Awful place to go. Treated like your 5 years old. To many stupid rule & 20 year old punks watching your every move, over priced for what u get. Bad food, bad beds, dirty rooms bad pillows, tiny bath towels that needed to be thrown in the trash. They do your laundry but it comes back with an awful smell. They keep the outside looking good as well as the front entry but the rest of the place is a mess. It needed remodeled years ago. The pics on their website must have been when they first opened because it doesn't look like that now, Tiny rooms with roommate in bed 3 feet from you. I would never refer anyone to lvrc.

  • It's a beautiful area and relaxes me. There are certain areas witch are way to loud and text here are to many strict rules. Would recommend a different area because Vegas is to crowded and the rehab was way to loud and interrupting.
Its nonsense...LVRC is an expensive scam... weird “true believer” staff. Strange holistic doctors that stretch the truth to the breaking point....Quack chronic pain treatments mostly...No psychology...Its all nonsense. The food is terrible.
