TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The Carolina Center for Behavioral Health begins treatment with a comprehensive assessment to develop an individualized care plan. Treatment methods are based on the 12-step principles. It offers a 24-hour assessment and referral service, so that new clients may seek help at any time of day. Assessments last up to 45 minutes.
During detox, clients are monitored by nurses and physicians or an addiction specialist 24 hours per day. The detox program also uses motivational interviewing (MI) for further assessment and treatment purposes. Following detox, a short-term residential program offering individual and group therapy is available.
An intensive outpatient (IOP) program meets for three hours, three times a week. The IOP program provides treatments focusing on developing coping skills. It uses group therapy and educational sessions on topics such as relapse prevention, 12-step orientation, relationships, and communications.
Specialized programing is available for different age groups depending on the needs of each client. These programs focus on age-specific coping and sober living skills alongside education about addiction and recovery.
Visitation and phone hours are limited to allow clients to focus on their recovery. These hours are scheduled based on the method of treatment that the client is in. Family members are encouraged to participate in a family education session once per week.
