ABOUT COMPASS INTERVENTION CENTER
Compass Intervention Center is located in Memphis, in southwest Tenn. For the last 20 years, the residential and Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) facility has treated adolescents aged six to 17, who are dealing with substance abuse, psychiatric, and co-occurring mental health disorders.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Residential treatment incorporates the 12-Steps, individual, family, and group therapy, recreational therapy. The program typically lasts 120 days, but length of stay is determined by individual’s needs. The facility also offers medication management for clients.
The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) lasts for two weeks on average with a minimum attendance of 4.5 hours per day of programming Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) is offered afternoons three to five days per week. Participation levels depend on the individual’s needs. The Compass Intervention Center also offers specific aid for veteran and military families.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The Compass Intervention Center has an on-staff psychologist, medical doctor, a number of board certified psychiatrists, therapists, psychiatric nurses, and certified recreational therapists available for clients. In addition, staff is on-call and clients can be admitted 24/7.
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
An on-site school places students in grades based on their age and diagnosis. Staff at the school keep in touch with the student’s at-home school. No other information regarding accommodations is available to date on the facility’s website.

Best-rehabs.com has not yet received any reviews from alums to date, however, on Google, 14 reviewers gave an average 2.1 out of five stars.[1] One positive reviewer said praised the facility for its accommodations.
The rest of the alums had negative feelings across a number of areas including the staff. Some felt it was too strict, while others suggested the strictness, though miserable, helped change their attitudes.

Two loved ones submitted reviews to Best-rehabs.com, offering mixed reviews. The pair gave four out of five stars for the center’s family program, cleanliness, and affordability. They gave mixed ratings for counseling options and treatment effectiveness, however.
The two loved ones cited the staff’s short-handedness and lack of empathy as the facility’s main weakness.
