ABOUT RECOVERY HOUSE OF EAST TENNESSEE
Recovery House of East Tennessee (RHOET) is located in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, approximately 30 miles west of Knoxville. We specialize in providing residential treatment for adults dealing with chemical dependency and co-occurring mental health difficulties. Our facility also offers on-site detoxification services, guided by medical supervision and medication management, to minimize the discomfort of withdrawal symptoms.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Prior to commencing treatment, clients undergo an initial substance abuse and psychiatric assessment to help clinicians assess their strengths and weaknesses. RHOET employs evidence-based treatment methods with a strength-based approach, leveraging clients’ strengths to support their success in early and long-term recovery.
Our residential program follows a structured schedule of group, individual, and family counseling sessions. These sessions utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) modalities, aiming to identify and address the underlying causes that contribute to addictive behavior, such as traumatic events, history of abuse, or co-occurring mental health concerns. RHOET also offers trauma-focused therapy and couples therapy.
In addition to therapy, dually diagnosed clients receive ongoing medication management to minimize psychiatric symptoms. Educational workshops are conducted to assist clients in processing their thinking patterns and behaviors, and completion of assignments may be required. Additionally, a family program is available for loved ones.
As part of our approach, RHOET encourages clients to develop community-based support networks through 12-step participation. Clients attend on- and off-site 12-step meetings, study fellowship literature, and engage in early-step work throughout the residential program. Therapeutic outings into the community and participation in an exercise and nutrition program are also integrated to promote healthy lifestyle changes.
Prior to discharge from the residential program, clinicians work closely with clients and their families to create a comprehensive discharge plan. We offer extensive follow-up services as well as referrals to outpatient-based and aftercare programs, supportive housing, and other resources that contribute to sustained sobriety.
