WHAT ALUMNI SAY

One alum has reviewed the H.O.W. Foundation to date, giving the facility a fairly negative review. Alum Wes gave the facility a rating of four out of five stars for cleanliness and acknowledged that the work focus taught participants “responsibility,” but he gave the facility low one-star ratings for its holistic offerings, family participation, connectivity/visitor policy, affordability, and counseling options. He wrote: “It does teach responsibility. The program is hypocritical; it teaches the 12 steps but doesn’t practice it as a business.”

At the time of this writing on YellowPages.com, four reviewers to date rated the facility’s treatment program two one-star reviews, one four-star review, and one five-star review. The four-star reviewer praised the program’s focus on busying clients with labor, writing: “They also provide great services to the surrounding communities, and those who use their services are saints even though they may not know it.”

However, the two negative reviewers complained of being overworked and witnessing racist treatment. One wrote: “During that time, if you are a person of color, you were treated like street trash! They work the workers seven days a week trimming trees! They have one or two meetings per week!”

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

YellowPages.com reviewer Megan rated H.O.W. a perfect five stars, praising the facility for successfully treating her stepfather. She wrote: “Every time that he fell off of the wagon, one phone call & they would take him back.”
