Our Hope Association’s mission is to offer recovery to women who seek healing from the disease of addiction. Our Hope Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to guiding women to lifelong recovery from alcoholism, addiction and other mental health and emotional conditions related to those diseases. Using our experience and expertise in women-centered recovery, we provide a comprehensive continuum of services that focus on healing the whole woman, upholding her dignity and helping her build strengths and resources for a life in recovery.
ABOUT OUR HOPE
Located in a quiet, historic neighborhood in Grand Rapids, Mich., Our Hope is one ofthat offers specialized treatment to women seeking treatment for substance abuse. The facility is also equipped to treat women with co-occurring mental health conditions. Our Hope offers residential treatment and , as well as outpatient services on a private pay basis. Detox is not available on site, but the facility can make referrals for detox centers and intervention services.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Prior to admission, clients receive a comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessment, the findings of which help determine the most appropriate course of treatment. Women who opt for residential treatment may remain on-site for 30, 60, or 90 days. During this time, they participate in treatment rooted in 12-step principles and incorporates individual therapy, group therapy, and educational programming.
Alongside traditional treatment methods, Our Hope uses holistic methods to facilitate emotional, spiritual, and physical recovery. Yoga is a common component of treatment programs. However, clients can also participate in less common methods including acupuncture detox and art therapy.
Group activities are worked into treatment plans to help build a sense of community. Clients often participate in group activities planned and managed by volunteers and alumni. Clients can also participate in classes at the local YMCA.
The 12-step principles are an important part of the treatment process, and clients are encouraged to continue their 12-Step work after treatment in the program. All program graduates leave the center with a, and may continue to engage in remote-based support for up to 18 months at no additional charge.
Our Hope employs an all-female staff consisting of master’s-level clinicians and certified counselors. A group of volunteers also helps coordinate activities for the facility. Our Hope is part of the
ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES
Clients reside in a large, Victorian-style home and attend therapy groups and meetings in an adjacent carriage house. The center aims to provide a homelike environment in order to ease their clients’ transitions back to everyday life. Clients are expected to actively participate in the upkeep of the home and help with preparing and serving group meals.
WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The three alumni surveyed by Best-rehabs.com to date shared mostly positive assessments of the treatment they received at Our Hope. Alumni expressed appreciation for the all-female program. They generally agreed that the facility was clean and there was an adequate level of staff support, offering four- and five-star ratings for these categories.
Awarding four-star ratings for the effectiveness of lead counselors, ability to resolve conflict, and the level of training and experience of staff, alum Carrie wrote: “Our Hope is an all female facility which I found helpful.” Alum J.B. added: “It offered more than abstinence from drugs, it also worked with Co-Occurring Disorder and Trauma which was vital to my recovery.”
On Google reviews, Our Hope had a four and a five out of five star-review at the time of this writing. On Facebook, which the facility can manage, Our Hope earned an average of 4.1 out of five stars from seven reviews to date. Two alumni indicated that the program “saved” their lives. One alum wrote how the program “gave me the tools I needed to live clean and sober,” before providing positive feedback about the staff and the long-term support offered.

Every year, Our Hope hosts events in the community to raise funds and awareness of related disorders that can be treated. In July, Our Hope will host theand Friends Picnic. The Evening of Hope Gala is also hosted in April.
