The Mount Rogers Community Services Board (CSB) is a state-run agency that provides a range of services for residents of Bland, Smyth, Wythe, Grayson, and Carroll counties, Virginia.
Located in central Marion, Cornerstone is a small, short-term crisis stabilization unit, offering sub-acute care for individuals struggling with a mental health disorder,, or developmental disability. Clients must enter voluntarily, and the services are not designed for those with a primary diagnosis of substance use disorder.

The maximum stay is 15 days.
Cornerstone aims to provide “creative, recovery based crisis stabilization services.” In addition, by providing education and instilling self-awareness, hope, and self-determination, the facility works to effect change in its residents’ lives.
Treatment includes individual and group counseling, psychiatric services, medication prescriptions and management, intensive case management, and planning for. For dually diagnosed clients, the mental health disorder and the substance use disorder are treated in an integrated fashion.
Cornerstone’s services are often used as a transitional step for those leaving hospital treatment; used in this way, the center’s treatment can reduce hospital readmission rates.
