ABOUT RECOVERY CENTER OF ARKANSAS – THE OASIS RENEWAL CENTER

Stretching across 48 acres of secluded forest, lake, and trails, the Oasis Renewal Center is a residential treatment center for adults struggling with substance abuse. It is run by the Recovery Center of Arkansas, which operates several other chemical dependency facilities in Little Rock. Detoxification services are not available on-site, and medical stability is a criterion for admission.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The Oasis Renewal Center cultivates a relaxed, natural, and outdoor therapeutic experience. The treatment program is rooted in the 12-Steps, but utilizes other evidence-based techniques as well, including motivational interviewing, Hazelden’s Living in Balance, and HealthSim’s Therapeutic Education System, an interactive, web-based version of the community reinforcement approach.

Clients stay between four and six weeks, during which they move through three phases of treatment. In Level 1, counselors identify the client’s areas of concern and provide a structured schedule for self-exploration and goal making. Level 2 gives clients the skills, education, and spiritual basis for managing their disorder. Finally, Level 3 helps clients develop an aftercare and transition plan.

Family counseling is incorporated into all levels of treatment. The facility’s counselor-facilitated sessions, support groups, and family workshops “help all involved move beyond the emotions of the past to a healthier future,” according to the website.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The facility has a team of addiction professionals and administrative personnel. The clinical director has more than 20 years’ experience in social work and addiction treatment, and the practicing medical director is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Additionally, Oasis Renewal Center employs a psychiatrist, certified drug and alcohol counselor, treatment coaches, licensed social workers, and an executive chef.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

With many walking trails and three lakes bordering its estate, the Oasis Renewal Center offers clients many natural amenities for outdoor recreation. Clients live dormitory-style in log cabins, and have access to a common dining area with abundant views. A chef prepares all meals, and clients can request their dietary preferences.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Former residents of the Oasis Renewal Center reported mixed experiences. An anonymous alum told Best-rehabs.com that the facility had “nice grounds”, but “Staff not aware what’s going on outside group room. Too much free time. Not large enough to house men & women.”

The facility’s Facebook page, however, lists an average rating of 4.6 out of five stars from 18 reviews at the time of this writing, which may indicate the facility screens feedback. Regardless, alum Jazmyne wrote: “I was absolutely terrified going to a Rehab, but all of the residents and the staff of Oasis made all my fears go away on day 1.”[1] David, another five-star reviewer on Facebook, posted: “My life was changed due to Oasis,” echoed by Stephanie, who expressed: “I owe my life to the people at Oasis and I pray they continue to save people’s lives for many years to come.”

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

The loved ones of Oasis Recovery residents delivered positive feedback in their Best-rehabs.com surveys. “One of my very good friend stayed there for eight weeks. I saw a lot of improvement in him,” wrote one anonymous reviewer, adding: “The entire team at the facility is very dependable and responsible to tackle such sensitive issue.” Similarly, another survey respondent said: “The experience was amazing. She learned new things. Came back a better person after the experience was over.”

Loved ones brought up a few areas of concern, however, including the pricey cost of treatment and a lack of family involvement.

FINANCING

According to its website, the Oasis accepts a wide range of private insurance and private pay. The center also offers financial assistance in the form of flexible payment plans through a third-party lender, Prosper HealthCare.
