Located in Covina, Calif. about 30 miles east of Los Angeles, National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD) offers outpatient programs for individuals who are struggling with substance use.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to NCADD’s website, the treatment center offers in-depth assessments, including level of care assessments. The center also provides assessments to give the treatment team information regarding life domains such as substance use, medical, employment, legal, social, psychological, family, environment, and special needs.

The treatment team provides presentations that are designed to inform the public on subjects, such as psychological and physiological parts of substance abuse, the recovery process, family issues, and health-related matters.

The goal of the relapse prevention program is to help individuals create a personalized plan. Plans typically include include five phases – stabilization, assessment, warning sign identification, warning sign management, and recovery planning. This program is broken up into two individual sessions and 12 weekly group sessions. Self-help meetings and random drug testing are also required.

The treatment team also offers individual and group counseling, which implement plans in prevention, treatment, recovery plans, and encourage changes in a person’s life. NCADD provides interventions, random drug testing, drunk driving treatment programs, tobacco cessation programs, and anger management programs.
