ABOUT THE SALVATION ARMY — FRESNO ADULT REHABILITATION CENTER

For over 100 years, the Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Centers (A.R.C.s) have provided no-fee recovery programs for individuals struggling with addiction. One of several centers in California, the A.R.C. in Fresno, offers holistic, work-therapy programming in a community setting. Detox is not offered here, making it one of 340 (86 percent) of residential facilities in California to not offer detox services.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

This A.R.C.’s holistic, social-model, work-therapy program aims to reintegrate adult men and women into their respective communities. Over the course of the six-month residential program, adults attend one-on-one and group therapy sessions, partake in 12-step meetings, and develop life skills central to healthy and active lifestyles. While in treatment, program participants are also expected to set and maintain sustainable employment goals.

  • If you work the program and desire to be sober-it is a great program to consider and one can be very successful in sobriety. There are Salvation Army centers for rehab all over the country. The rules and specifics are different at each facility. It depends on who the Captains are and their personal implementation of the center they run....A person had to be mentally sound & given a doctor's clearance to work...I did not participate in after care, it was optional at that time. In this program, you are protected & sheltered from harm, under their most caring & compassionate arms...Housed in beautiful old mansion (females)...Men had dorms at the center...
