U-Turn For Christ

U-Turn For Christ Perris California

U-Turn For Christ is a residential rehabilitation center for men struggling with addiction. The facility, located in Perris, California, offers a Christian Discipleship re-entry program that allows residents to contribute to the community while recovering. U-Turn’s objective is to teach men to become self-supporting and stable under the guidance of Jesus Christ, and to become valuable members of their families, churches, friends, employers, schools, and society.

ABOUT U-TURN FOR CHRIST

U-Turn for Christ is an international network of Christian discipleship programs that help men and women recover from substance misuse by establishing and maintaining a connection to Jesus. The organization has six facilities overseas and 14 locations throughout the U.S., including Needles and Camino, California. The Perris, California branch is the flagship location. Clients do not have to be practicing Christians to enroll, but they must be willing to participate in Bible studies, church services, and other religious events. Treatment at U-Turn is long-term, with a minimum commitment of two months and some clients staying up to eight months.

New clients must be over 18 years old, not be a sex offender, and have 24 hours of sobriety upon arrival. While the center accepts court-ordered clients, they are required to complete the full eight-month program, rather than just the compulsory two months. Clients taking psychotropic medications must gradually reduce their dosage by 25 percent per week.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

U-Turn for Christ emphasizes that all treatment is based on biblical principles and does not employ 12-step, clinical, or other methods. Treatment is divided into two phases, with only Phase One being mandatory. During this phase, which lasts a minimum of two months, residents engage in devotions, chores, community service, Bible study, and personal devotion time in the evenings. Communal living and “healthy fellowship” are emphasized during this phase.

Phase Two is optional and lasts six months. During this phase, residents have two choices. One option is to seek regular employment during the day and attend church services in the evenings. The other option is to fully serve in the ministry, which requires significant sacrifice. Residents who choose the second option often stay for up to a year and may go on to serve at other U-Turn for Christ facilities in the United States and around the world.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

The center employs two pastors and several members of the administrative staff. At the time of this writing, there were no mental-health professionals on staff.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

During the first phase of treatment, residents live in a military-style residence with multiple bunk beds in one large room. The facility is tobacco-free and prohibits secular reading materials and media. Visitation is limited to Sunday afternoons and is restricted to immediate family members. A strict dress code is enforced, including no secular logos, required sleeves for men, and restrictions on women’s clothing.

U-Turn For Christ Reviews

Please do not send your loved one here! This is NOT a "rehab" this is a place that preys on vulnerable people and exploits them for profit. You are worked 40-60 hours a week regardless of withdrawals, illness or disability. The only feed you donated food so we ate spoiled and rotting food regularly and fresh fruit, veggies or meat was rare. They will read your mail and decide to withhold it of they believe it could cause you to "stumble." The staff is taught to be as hard as possible on you so you leave, and then have to come back and they can collect another "donation from your family. The facility is paid for the labor you perform and zero of it goes back into the facility except for a few things like perhaps electrical. They have cruel punishment like shunning, or "word fast", digging holes, sleep deprivation. Do NOT believe the Google reviews, that is staff and family with fake names. Please do not harm your loved one by sending them here. They made me a director when I wasn't even 60 days sober and

Both my husband and my self went to U Turn, separated in camp's. I remember it being so hard at first Once I gave in any accepted that I did need help, the labor and obedience I learned is the only way. I stayed and graduated with my husband Jossie was the house manager and I thank her for her strictness on me. Ps I won the purple t shirt. Just pray for obedience and humidity, it's a great blessed place.
I give I turn for Christ a five star rating because it was through this program that God worked in my life to save me from death from such a depression that would’ve killed me if I hadn’t been there. I came from a mental hospital to U-Turn for Christ in a state of such fear and depression that I was unable to function in the world. I couldn’t work I couldn’t be alone. the devil had destroyed everything in my life I lost everything. I lost my home I lost my family I lost my mind but through their program and putting my trust in Jesus Christ for salvation and putting my trust in his word and clinging to his word and believing in his word God turned my life around he restored my life he restored my mind he gave me back everything that I lost plus more. I’m not saying that this was an easy thing to do it wasn’t. I spent two years at U-Turn for Christ but he did a miracle there and the reason he did was because I was surrendered to him I surrendered my life to him gave him everything this is when he’s able to work in your heart and your life and not until then
