Coastal Harbor Health System is a reputable provider of mental health and chemical dependency services for adults, children, and adolescents. We operate two facilities in Savannah, Georgia. Our Coastal Harbor Behavioral Health facility is a premier psychiatric hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient treatment options for adults with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Additionally, we provide on-site medically-monitored detoxification services. Adjacent to this facility is the Coastal Harbor Treatment Center, where we specialize in providing inpatient substance abuse treatment for youth.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
At Coastal Harbor Health System, we prioritize thorough assessments to determine the appropriate level of care for each client. Admission to our programs is preceded by a comprehensive assessment. The length of stay for inpatient clients is based on their specific needs. Our outpatient options include a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). We understand the unique needs of military personnel and offer a specialized program for veterans and active duty service members. Moreover, we have a dedicated dual diagnosis track designed to address co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Our treatment programs adhere to evidence-based practices, which include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and Seeking Safety groups. Clients participate in group therapy, individual counseling, 12-step meetings, and addiction education groups. Additionally, we offer experiential activities, such as yoga and animal-assisted therapy. We emphasize nutrition and wellness as integral components of treatment, and comprehensive discharge planning ensures a smooth transition from our programs.

We currently have limited information about the living arrangements and amenities at Coastal Harbor Behavioral Health. However, our 50-bed facility is a typical psychiatric hospital setting. According to Best-rehabs.com, six reviewers rated the accommodations 3.7 out of five stars and noted the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.

The anonymous former client rated our treatment effectiveness and staff experience four out of five stars. They reported that the staff was nice and the food was good. However, they expressed lower satisfaction with holistic and exercise offerings, rating them only two out of five stars. The alum also mentioned concerns about the cost of treatment.
On Google, reviewers were generally less enthusiastic, giving our facility an overall score of 1.8 out of five stars based on five user reviews. Some alumni commented on the perceived rudeness of staff members and the lack of effective treatment. The overall average rating given to our facility by these employees was 3.2 out of five stars. One senior counselor mentioned that the environment could be stressful due to working with troubled youth, but emphasized that the staff worked well together and cared about clients and their families. This counselor also acknowledged that staff members had opportunities for overtime and time off to prevent burnout.
