ABOUT TALBOTT RECOVERY

Talbott Recovery’s Atlanta-based facility provides a full continuum of substance abuse treatment services for adults (18+). The center’s program guides clients through the process of recovery, starting with detox and cycling through a partial hospitalization program (PHP), an intensive outpatient program (IOP), and transitional living. The center also offers specialized treatment tracks for young adults (ages 18 to 25), professionals, and clients with co-occurring disorders.

Detox is made available through Anchor Hospital on the Talbott Recovery Atlanta campus.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The treatment process at Talbott Recovery begins with a consultation with an intake specialist. Admissions specialists are available around-the-clock. Clients participate in an initial assessment including a medical history review. Clients can be admitted to programs during the week before noon if they pass all of the assessments.

Treatment consists of a complete mental health examination following detox treatment. A treatment plan is developed based on this assessment. Partial hospitalization programs are used to facilitate treatment. 12-step principles as well as several medical practices are incorporated into treatments. Wellness training is also used to promote full mind, body, and spiritual improvement.

Specialized treatment programs are available for different groups. Programs are available for professionals, pilots, and families. Each program combines tailored counseling with support programs. Confidentiality is a major component of these programs.

During the final stage of treatment, called “Mirror Image,” clients visit substance abuse treatment facilities and work with peers who are in the early stages of recovery. According to the center’s website, this practice combats the “myopia that often accompanies the disease of addiction.” During this phase, clients continue to participate in groups and receive treatment.

Family participation is encouraged and there is a family counseling program available. Clients are encouraged to participate in family counseling and community-based treatment programs to support sober living. An alumni group is also available.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

According to the Talbott Recovery’s website, the treatment team includes a physician, psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, internal medicine specialist, addiction medicine specialist, and an assessment coordinator. The facility is accredited by CARF, GHA, and ADACBGA.

ACCOMMODATIONS & AMENITIES

During treatment, clients stay in Talbott’s recovery residences, which offer apartment-style living. Gender-specific residences are equipped with two bedrooms, which two clients share. Each apartment contains in-suite washing machines and dryers, and residents have access to fitness rooms and swimming pools. Transportation to and from the treatment center is provided by a Talbott bus.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

Alumni reviews sourced by Best-rehabs.com are mixed; nine of the 14 alumni polled by Best-rehabs.com indicated that they would recommend the facility to others.

Several alumni mentioned ineffective treatment and prioritization of payment over patient care. “Accommodations and facility will woo you on a tour but it is utter hell and I gained NOTHING in two weeks,” alum Steven wrote.

Alumni tended to give higher ratings to the facility for its family participation, cleanliness, and staff’s level of training and experience with four- and maximum five-star average ratings. Affordability and exercise and leisure opportunities had the lowest average ratings, Most alumni provided only two out of five stars or lower for these categories.

On Google, the Talbott Recovery Campus earned an average of 4.2 out of five stars from 13 reviews to date.

Overwhelmingly, alumni praised the effectiveness of the treatment program and the staff. In a representative review, alum Jan wrote: “I was met with staff that were as knowledgeable as they were empathetic. Their ability to recognize an individuals needs, help determine an appropriate course of action, and then help you implement that solution, without a doubt saved my life.”

Talbott Recovery Reviews

Talbott, being somewhat effective in what they do, are much more effective taking your money and making professionals stay much longer than initially indicated. If you have a lot of money or are covered under insurance (doctors and pilots) your chances of being forced to stay are probably 80%. And why not, Talbott knows one call to the PHP or to the pilot’s employer will sink a career. The ethics violations at Talbott are unbelievable. This is a criminal conspiracy in every way. Insurance fraud is the tip of the proverbial iceberg. What do you call it when you intentionally treat people for something they don’t want and intentionally falsify documents? Sounds quite criminal to me.
The overall therapeutic experience and treatment included in this facility was very successful, although it was difficult times and bad things to see. Great experience, attention and cleanliness all this gives a sense of security. Prices are a little high In any case prices should be reduced slightly That would be great.
They were mean and didn't offer physical health options like a gym, but they were very good at what they did. Sober 21 years now.All staff was in recovery. They were well-trained in dealing with high-functioning addicts and alcoholics so they didn't fall for the usual bs. They were very strict. I think that's important with addicts. Women had to be in groups of three to go on errands, men only groups of two. And they didn't support exercise at all. I was a runner and all I wanted to do was run and I had to get two other women to come with me to the track to make that happen. No gym. I don't think there needs to be a bunch of spa stuff but basic access to exercise is a necessity bc there's a lot of energy in early sobriety.
I personally spent 80,000$ + on this autrocity only to come out with more problems than I went in with. I only regret not having a mrans to document some of the things that I witnessed there. Just PLEASE if you are wanting help sadly you need to be careful whom you get it from. The price tag does not guarentee the quality of care. Also gl and take care to any on the road of recovery!
Talbott offers comprehensive in depth treatment for addiction with medical supervision. Dual Diagnosis a specialty. Staff is top notch. Different approach from many others as its not in a bubble. Residents live off campus in apartments which are supervised, and go to treatment at Talbott during the day. They go off campus for AA meetings daily,, and make use of fitness facilities at a local quality gym. The Young Adult program is 90 days which is a lot longer than many they make use of every single minute. Sometimes admin. may be a bit disorganized regarding billing or into to parents but considering everything they do right its not a real problem. We are eternally grateful to Talbott because they have literally given our son back to us. He is the person he was before his addiction, but better as he had a new perspective on his life and how he relates to others whether its peers or family. We were referred to Talbott by a trusted friend who went there as an adult but our son is in the Young Adult program. We really shopped around in spite of the rec and are so grateful that we decided on Talbott.
