ABOUT BLOOMINGTON MEADOWS HOSPITAL

Bloomington Meadows Hospital is a behavioral healthcare center located on seven acres in the southern Indiana hills. The hospital serves youth and adults through its psychiatric and dual diagnosis substance abuse treatment programs, which include medical detox services, residential stabilization, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and outpatient programs.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

The treatment process at Bloomington Meadows Hospital begins with an initial assessment with the facility’s medical staff. The Initial assessment and referral services are free to the public and available every day. Following a 45-minute, face-to-face meeting, clients and their families receive personalized recommendations for treatment

Treatment incorporates education, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and various recreational therapies including music and art therapy. Clients participate in individual and group counseling with family therapy available as needed. Medication management is also integrated in the treatment process as needed. Bloomington Meadows is guided by a trauma-informed care philosophy. Age specific programs are available that focus on the specific recovery needs of each age group.

The youth program focuses on providing young clients with the resources needed to develop a sober lifestyle. Clients participate in counseling including family counseling. Young clients have the options of participating in the residential program or the partial hospitalization program (PHP). The adult programs follow a similar model of treatment, but incorporate adult-focused educational components.

Outpatient treatment includes a variety of programs such as the tele-psychiatry program, which allows clients to participate in meetings and counseling through internet conferencing. Clients can find support from medication management programs that help clients manage and wean their way of specific medications.

Family participation is widely encouraged throughout treatment. Family counseling services are provided in the treatment programs to help clients establish strong family connections and support networks in their community.
