ABOUT FRANCISCAN HEALTH DYER

Franciscan Health Dyer is part of Franciscan Health, a faith-affiliated health network that operates 14 hospitals and many medical practices in Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. Franciscan Health Dyer is one of the largest acute-care facilities in northwestern Indiana. Alongside a full array of medical services, it offers a behavioral health unit that treats psychiatric, behavioral, and emotional disorders including substance abuse. Substance abuse offerings consist of medical detox, partial hospitalization (PHP), residential, intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient programming for adults and adolescents. Treatments for co-occurring disorders are also available.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

Treatment at Franciscan Health Dyer begins with a comprehensive medical and behavioral health assessment to determine each client’s treatment needs. A team of certified medical and behavioral health specialists meet with the client in person to complete an evaluation. The results are used to determine the best method of treatment. Clients in need of immediate intervention may enroll in the detox program.

Treatments consist of traditional therapies including counseling and group therapy sessions, coupled with medical interventions as needed. Clients participate in a range of therapy sessions and educational courses focused on identifying and addressing problem behaviors that contribute to addiction.

A residential program is available for adolescents as well. The program is tailored to address the needs of younger substance abuse clients while addressing co-occurring disorders simultaneously. These can include anxiety, grief, personality disorders, and PTSD to name a few.

Spiritual care is also an important part of the hospital’s operations. The hospital is linked to a specific faith, but treatment options are not. Spiritual care can accommodate many different faiths. However, Christian Spiritual Services are held on-site daily and are open to everyone.

Family participation is encouraged throughout the treatment process, and family support is available. Family members can participate in family counseling and other services to help clients advance through their rehabilitation.

  • staff and doctors have good bedside manners. But sometimes get frustrated on handling the really sick patients, no knowledge of SUPPLEMENT abuse. Not being able to test for overdose of supplements. They gave my grandson tranquilizers when they should have tested him for the overdose of supplements, not drugs, I am saying supplements he purchased over the internet from overseas
