ABOUT STEP2
Located in Reno, Nev. and founded in 1986, STEP2 is a private nonprofit facility, which make up about 42 percent of all treatment facilities in Nevada. It offers residential treatment, transitional housing, intensive outpatient services, and outpatient treatment to women who are struggling with substance use and more.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
According to STEP2’s website, it provides residential and outpatient services to women who are struggling with substance abuse, poverty, domestic violence, and/or sexual assault. Each client receives an individualized treatment program in a safe environment.
Treatment plans are focused on empowering each client to become productive members of society while staying in recovery. The treatment center allows clients to maintain custody of their children during treatment.
Programming includes parenting education, educational and vocational training, job placement assistance, access to appropriate medical care, and psychosocial education related to women’s issues. STEP2 measures success in five ways — sobriety, housing, employment, family stability, and overall well-being.
STEP2 gives priority to women who are pregnant and to clients with children. Along with its services, it offers connection to community resources.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
STEP2’s website indicates it employs more than 20 full-time staffers including marriage and family therapists, licensed or certified substance abuse counselors, and licensed social workers. The treatment center also has contracts with a physician and medical providers. The alum surveyed by Best-rehabs.com to date gave five out of five stars for the staff’s experience.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY
The alum polled by Best-rehabs.com to date provided positive feedback, and five out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, counseling options, family participation, and holistic offerings. “This place saved my life,” the alum wrote. “The setup of their program is unique and specialized for me and my problems.”
To date, all 33 people who left reviews on STEP2’s Facebook page, which it has the ability to manage, gave five out of five stars. Reviewers wrote about how the center changed their life, the supportive staff, and overall effectiveness of the treatment center.
“I’m so grateful for Step 2 all the staff. Step 2 help me put my life back together… Since Step 2 I got both kids back amazing job I love going to work everyday at,” an alum wrote in a representative review on Facebook.
At the time of this writing, two people left five out of five star reviews on Google for STEP2.
FINANCING
According to STEP2’s website, it offers services to clients regardless of their ability to pay. The alum gave five out of five stars when asked if treatment was worth the cost.
