ABOUT DAYTOP NEW JERSEY – MENDHAM
Daytop New Jersey runs two residential treatment facilities for adolescents (ages 13 to 18), three outpatient facilities, a recovery high school, and a women’s halfway house. Located on a 26-acre campus in Mendham, one of the residential treatment facilities is situated alongside The Academy, a full-day, recovery-based middle and high school that caters to individuals in the program as well as day students from the community. These facilities primarily focus on the treatment of clients with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Please note that detox services are not provided on-site.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The treatment approach at The Academy and Daytop New Jersey is rooted in the principles of the 12-Steps and maintains a strong family-like structure. Each client receives a personalized treatment plan and works closely with both a psychiatrist and case manager throughout their stay. The treatment program places a strong emphasis on removing clients from negative environments that contribute to their substance abuse and related issues and immersing them in a supportive and conducive learning environment. Clients engage in various evidence-based and experiential therapies, including individual, group, and family counseling, music therapy, art therapy, and recreational activities. To enhance the recovery process, clients participate in a peer-based social learning model that encourages mutual support and encouragement. Additionally, attending school at The Academy is an integral part of the treatment program. The Academy offers small class sizes and follows a traditional school schedule to ensure that adolescents can continue their education while receiving treatment.
Daytop New Jersey and The Academy are staffed by multidisciplinary teams comprising licensed and certified professionals. The medical and treatment staff includes licensed psychiatrists and nurses, while the educational staff at The Academy consists of licensed and certified educators in the state of New Jersey. The Academy also has a school psychologist and a student assistance counselor available during school hours.
