ABOUT RIVERVIEW MEDICAL CENTER – ADDICTION RECOVERY PROGRAM

Riverview Medical Center, part of Hackensack Meridian Health, is an acute-care community hospital located in Red Bank, N.J. In addition to general medical services, the organization provides a small inpatient program for addiction recovery services and operates a nearby behavioral health facility that offers outpatient care for adults struggling with substance abuse. Included in these outpatient services is a dedicated driving while intoxicated (DWI) program for offenders.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to Riverview Medical Center’s website, its addiction recovery program delivers services to adults primarily in an outpatient setting. Options include an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and continuing care program for those in early recovery. Families are encouraged to attend treatment, and offerings include family education and co-dependency counseling. The DWI education group lasts 16 weeks. Individual, family, group, and activity therapies also are available to adolescents ages 13 to 17 on an outpatient basis.

There is a short-term 30-bed inpatient unit for adults needing psychiatric and/or substance abuse care, but it’s unclear whether it also provides medical detoxification. The program offers individual, group, and family therapy and the average inpatient stay is eight days.

STAFF CREDENTIALS

According to the facility’s website, the multidisciplinary behavioral health treatment team includes psychiatrists, registered nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, master’s-level therapists, substance abuse staff, and other medical personnel.
