She gave the facility four out of five stars for treatment effectiveness, accommodations & amenities, and meals & nutrition. She strongly agreed that the facility was clean and well maintained; that family and loved ones were able to participate in treatment through facility programming; and that the facility was adequately equipped and staffed to treat co-occurring mental health problems in addition to substance use disorders.
The loved one felt that a strength of the facility was the helpful and compassionate counseling staff but indicated that the facility’s weakness was that it is state owned. The loved added additional commentary writing, “It was just a friend and I visited him there while he was in rehab. I just know that they helped him with his problem and he is, 5 years later, still drug free.” Overall, she was neutral on whether or not she would recommend this facility to another friend or loved one who was considering rehab.

One alum, D.N., who gave five stars, had a good experience with a new doctor. She wrote, “They have a new doctor and he is excellent. Great personality and very caring… I’ve been coming to Taliaferro for many years. Don’t know what I’d do without them.” Another client, T.G., did not have as positive of an experience. He wrote that he missed an appointment due to a complication with his diabetes and was not given extra medication to get him through until his next appointment. He gave one star and wrote, “Now i am suffering withdraws from Celexa being forced to go cold turkey.” The facility responded to his comment asking the client to contact the facility again.

Those who left positive comments spoke of the friendly staff, good food, and effective treatment. Those who left negative reviews felt that the treatment was not effective and there were even misdiagnoses happening at the facility.
On the facility’s Yellowpages.com page, there is a two out of five stars rating based on three reviews.[3] The reviews include one five star review and two other one star reviews. R.S., who gave five stars, wrote that she stayed at the facility for two weeks and had a good experience commenting, “They gave me my life back and thanks for a wonderful counselor I have exceeded what anyone thought I could.” The other two reviewers were both clients at the facility in the past and both felt that they did not receive high quality treatment. One of the individuals wrote, “It’s like being in prison. Avoid the place if you possibly can and if you have to go there, God be with you.”
