Located in Butler, Pa., about 40 miles southwest of Pittsburgh, Davis Archway is a licensed halfway house for adult men recovering from chemical dependency. The facility offers recovery-based programming and community support, as well as opportunities for employment and education. Detox services are not available on-site.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to the facility’s website, the program at Davis Archway is designed to promote growth and responsibility as clients continue to work on maintaining their sobriety. Clients receive individualized treatment plans and set goals based on their specific situations and needs. The facility offers programming in three phases to address the progressing needs of its clients during the process of recovery.

Davis Archway’s treatment includes individual therapy, a family program, life skills and relapse prevention groups, team building groups, and access to psychiatric services (if needed). Residents also regularly attend 12-step meetings (AA/NA//Co-occurring). Along with clinical components, residents participate in a range of recreational activities to promote a healthy lifestyle. The facility also offers optional church services and bible study groups.

While participating in treatment services, Davis Archway encourages clients to pursue educational options (G.E.D. and/or secondary education). The facility also offers assistance finding employment and facilitates volunteer and community service opportunities.

Residents have access to phones, the internet, and laundry facilities. The halfway house also offers transportation to 12-step meetings, jobs, and other off-site activities. Both individuals polled by Best-rehabs.com to date reviewers gave the accommodations a perfect score of five stars.

WHAT ALUMNI SAY

The one alum polled by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided mostly positive feedback. The alum, Jared, gave Davis Archway five out of five stars for a number of categories including holistic offerings, treatment effectiveness, exercise availability, leisure activities, and the quality of counseling. Jared also indicated he would recommend David Achway. “Overall a good facility,” he wrote.

WHAT FRIENDS & FAMILY SAY

The sole loved one surveyed by Best-rehabs.com at the time of this writing provided mixed feedback for the facility. Although offering a four-star rating for the level of family involvement, M.C.D. noted that they felt the family program could improve. “I did not care for the family program. The video that was used was the same every month,” M.C.D. wrote. Despite this, the loved one gave Davis Archway a four-star rating for the qualification of staff.

A single loved one on Google reviews awarded the facility a perfect five out of five star review. “This place has given my brother the second chance he comes home to me next Thursday and is a totally different person” they wrote.

FINANCING

  • I did not care for the family program. The video that was used was the same every month. During one of the family discussions, I asked a question about an alternate to the 12 steps and it was not addressed and I asked about a group where the counselor said that it did not exist any longer which was incorrect because I had been in contact with the group the previous week.
