Addiction treatment at the North Bay Recovery Center is grounded in the belief that long-term recovery is most successfully achieved when clients actively participate in their own healing process. The gender-specific facility provides men with an innovative “full-immersion” treatment program that allows for real-life and community integration, as well as intensive therapeutic interventions and reliance on AA’s 12 steps. This holistic approach is designed to treat the whole person, enabling the treatment team to work with each client on a truly individualized level.
ABOUT NORTH BAY RECOVERY CENTER
Located in a residential area close to San Francisco Bay, North Bay Recovery Center offers a 90-day residential treatment program for men struggling with substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and process addictions such as sex, relationships, and gambling. Detox services are available on-site, and clients enrolling in the residential program must have at least 28 days sober.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
One of the primary missions at North Bay Recovery Center is to provide a safe, sober, supported, and supervised recovery environment, what the facility calls its “S4 model.” Treatment follows the 12-Steps and prioritizes community reintegration.
The 90-day treatment program is divided into three stages, each of which lasts 30 days. Throughout the process, clients keep a daily journal of their progress. In stage one, clients and their families are comprehensively and holistically assessed, and their core issues are identified. They also work on the first four steps of the 12-step model.
In stage two, they participate in individual and group therapy, identify relapse triggers, and learn coping strategies. They also have individualized family work, begin to put together an exit plan, and work on steps five through eight.
In stage three, clients focus on their re-entry into sober life. Tasks include fostering a support network, taking personal responsibility, and learning time management and scheduling skills. Stage three also provides cognitive behavioral treatment and periodic drug and alcohol testing.
An optional extended care program adds a fourth stage, which involves further life skills training and planning for work, school, or volunteering.
