TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
The facility’s treatment program follows a biblically based, holistic model. To be admitted, clients must contact the center to schedule an appointment, complete an application, and meet with the facility for an introduction to the personnel and an understanding of the program’s expectations. Residents remain in the treatment program for 12 months.
The first three-month induction phase of the program takes place in the Los Angeles or Kern County facilities. Afterward, women are transferred to the Ventura Women’s Home for the remaining nine months of treatment. Throughout treatment, clients receive discipleship from individuals who have overcome addiction. These advisors/mentors assist women in making necessary adjustments to cope effectively with their problems and help them grow spiritually and emotionally. Clients participate in chapel services, Bible studies, and general work programs each day. They also have the opportunity to earn their high school diploma or GED certificate while in the program.
As part of the treatment program, Ventura Teen Challenge clients visit schools in the nearby area to educate children on the dangers of substance abuse. They also participate in choir outings and work projects in the community.
