ABOUT DARTMOUTH-HITCHCOCK

An agency headquartered in Lebanon, N.H., Dartmouth-Hitchcock provides a regional directory of treatment programs and support groups to residents of the Upper Valley region of Vermont and New Hampshire. The organization offers substance abuse treatment through its Addiction Treatment Program, which treats and refers patients through necessary channels. It is one of just 19 facilities with an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in New Hampshire (29 percent).

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

ATP at DHMC offers state-of-the-art evaluation, treatment, and referral services for people seeking help for substance use and related disorders, according to its web site.

Through ATP, Dartmouth-Hitchcock has an intensive outpatient program (IOP) that performs a comprehensive evaluation, offers co-occurring mental health disorder treatment, psychiatric evaluation and psychopharmacology.

Evaluations and IOP offerings are available mornings and afternoons, Monday through Thursday, generally without need of patient referral. After assessment, patients attend scheduled therapy, which requires participation in group and individual sessions. Treatment combines motivational, behavioral, relapse prevention, and the 12-Steps. Groups therapy is offered throughout the day, including during evening hours. Individual treatment sessions are available by scheduled appointment.

ATP also offers Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) with buprenorphine for patients with opioid use disorders.
