ABOUT KOLPIA COUNSELING SERVICES INC
Located on a tree-lined street in the small city of Ashland, Oregon, Kolpia Counseling Services, Inc. is an outpatient counseling center that provides an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and education program for adults seeking treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Kolpia offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) that meets four mornings per week, as well as a general outpatient care. Both programs last 12 weeks, and in order to graduate, clients must have been sober for 90 days prior to graduation.
The treatment process at Kolpia focuses on a combination of education and counseling using a client-focused approach. This includes evidence-based and holistic methods as well as more traditional talk therapies. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) are the primary therapeutic modalities.
The Stages of Change model and Seeking Safety groups are also available. These groups work on guilt, shame, and recovery through Brene Brown’s “Connections” program.
The holistic treatment options include yoga-integrated recovery groups and a drumming and indigenous perspectives group. Expressive art therapy and mindfulness training are available as well. For those clients seeking treatment for co-occurring disorders, Kolpia aims to provide a collaborative approach that allows the two disorders to be treated simultaneously.
Treatment takes place in the settings of individual and group counseling and educational sessions. Clients are also advised to participate in 12-step meetings. All clients must participate in urine analysis tests throughout treatment. A family program provides education and emotional support through sessions on a rotating curriculum.
STAFF CREDENTIALS
The staff at Kolpia includes two licensed clinical social workers, several certified drug and alcohol counselors, and a registered yoga teacher. A nutritionist and expressive art therapist are also available. An initial assessment costs $200, and an hour-long individual therapy appointment costs $175, while group therapy costs $55 per session. A sliding fee scale is available for eligible clients.
