TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

According to LakeHaven Recovery Center’s website, to determine an appropriate level of care and identify individual client needs, clients first undergo an initial substance abuse and psychiatric assessment before beginning treatment. The center’s programming combines the 12-Step model of recovery with a range of evidence-based modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI), to help clients modify destructive behavior and set recovery goals.

During treatment, clients are assigned a primary therapist who provides individual therapy and guidance. In addition, clients attend group and family therapy sessions, as well as psychoeducational groups and 12-step workshops that guide clients through the first three steps of the fellowship. Clients also attend daily 12-step meetings on- and off-site. As indicated, medically-assisted treatment (Naltrexone and Vivitrol) may also be utilized to minimize the discomfort of withdrawal and help curb cravings.

To help clients struggling with co-occurring disorders, the facility utilizes eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) to treat issues of trauma. Clients may also participate in neuro-feedback sessions to address maladaptive responses to emotional or psychological issues. Along with traditional treatment options, clients also participate in guided yoga, Tai Chi, art and music therapy, and physical conditioning.

To help clients lead productive lives after treatment, LakeHaven offers job coaching through its Pathways 2 Work program and case management services to assist with any legal, employment, and/or social issues. In some cases, clinicians may encourage clients to “step-down” to less intensive levels of care. LakeHaven offers both day and evening intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), which includes nine hours of weekly programming for four weeks. LakeHaven also operates transitional living facilities, offers no-cost aftercare support groups, and facilitates activities through an alumni organization.

  • The intake coordinator is a sales person and will sell you the world. It is a run down facility with minimum nutrition. You are treated poorly and they take advantage of vulnerable individuals with dependencies. They mistreat the patients. They don't let you leave when you want, especially if you are there at your own will. They make lots of threats, bully and are not nurturing at all. --SHAME ON THEM!!
I had a son go there,he's back and is in worse shape then when he Left !! SMH

  • My son attended and was helped but they billed thousands of dollars of lab tests every day he was there. They did not draw blood or do a urine test everyday. The worst is that when he sucessfully completed the program we only received a short email that he completed. The court wants them to sign a simple form, I cannot reach anyone, always transferred to a voicemail. There is no office staff,or director that can be reached. DO NOT SEND ANYONE THERE IF THEY WILL NEED ANY VERIFICATION OF TREATMENT. All they want is there money then you are toast!

  • This recovery treatment center is run more like a jail with money motivating them instead of giving their clients the best possible treatment. My loved one who had attended for 60 days was told she would receive all of her assignments and certificate only to be told a month after being discharged that they were all shredded without ever being sent to her and she did not give consent to do so, I was also told she would receive them. Staff are incompetent employees who run the family around in circles when they have questions and on top of it they cannot be reached nor does anyone answer the 1-800 number they have online. They have absolutely no issues sending multiple emails and calling when they need funds added to the patients account. They recently had a merge of treatment centers and during that time my loved one didn't receive any treatment or sessions she was supposed to and that were already paid for, do not send your loved one here unless you'd like to be fed a bunch of lies.

  • I THINK THE clients are the one who deserve credit for their efforts the staff just guides them on their way . They should be more empathic to the desires of the clients. the staff could use mire training on this matter . Besides for two of the staff members, the care mangers are left in the dark not knowing a thing even distribution of meds . I KNOW THEY ALL CARE BUT TRAINING NEEDS TO BE INPROVED . its never right to make a volunteer addict be made to be the bad guy by leaving that person of the usa with no rights or making it for him or her .as a rehab you hold free will in your hands take caution how you use it don't play god with the weak do what the higher power would do after all he wathches you to
