ABOUT RICHLAND MEMORIAL HOSPITAL PSYCHIATRIC UNIT
Richland Memorial Hospital’s Psychiatric Unit provides inpatient treatment for adults aged 18 and older with severe mental health issues.
TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT
Beginning with a medical examination, the hospital’s psychiatric unit oversees each patient’s through over the course of their short stay here, ranging from four to six days in length. Adults attend regular meetings with the unit’s psychiatrist, as well as several therapy and education sessions each day. Whenever possible, families and other loved ones are involved in the treatment process.
Follow-up care and referrals are made to ensure each patient’s smooth transition back into the community.
